Terms of Service

Effective: January 1, 2025 · Last updated: July 2, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the TripWallet mobile application ("App") operated by TripWallet ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

What TripWallet is

TripWallet is a travel utility app that helps you:

TripWallet is a tool to assist you — not a substitute for professional financial, medical, or legal advice.

Accuracy disclaimer

AI-generated translations, price estimates, receipt totals, and exchange rates are approximations only. They may contain errors. Do not rely on them for critical financial decisions. Always verify amounts and exchange rates independently.

⚠️ Emergency numbers and embassy/consulate details are provided for convenience and may change. Always verify critical safety information locally on arrival. TripWallet is not a substitute for official emergency services.

Travel Vault

The Travel Vault stores documents (passports, boarding passes, visas, insurance, hotel confirmations, licenses) in your phone's private app storage. TripWallet's architecture is designed so that document contents cannot be stored in our database or transmitted to any server — only metadata (filename, document type, date added) is indexed on-device.

Deleting a document from the Vault removes the file from your device. This action is permanent and requires your explicit confirmation. Keep independent backups of any irreplaceable documents. TripWallet is not responsible for document loss.

Boarding pass barcodes are decoded entirely on your device. The barcode reader is designed to never read Passenger Name Records (PNR) or booking reference codes. You review all detected fields before saving.

Medical information

The Medical Card feature is for informational purposes only. TripWallet does not provide medical advice and is not a substitute for professional medical care. Medical data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to any server or AI provider.

Emergency features

The SOS feature opens your device's dialer with a local emergency number pre-filled. TripWallet never dials automatically, never calls emergency services on your behalf, and never opens banking or payment apps. You are always in control of any action taken.

Family Trip Mode

Family Trip expenses sync through our backend server. You are responsible for who you share your trip code with. We are not liable for unauthorized access to a shared trip caused by sharing your trip code with others.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Intellectual property

The App, its design, code, and content are the property of TripWallet. You may not reproduce or redistribute any part of the App without our written permission.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TripWallet is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for:

Changes to the App or Terms

We may update the App or these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
